Senior Software Engineer - Rust for Cross-Platform Development

About the Role

We're hiring a Senior Software Engineer (Rust remote) to join our innovative team at Photoroom. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on cross-platform libraries that power our Android, iOS, and Web applications, directly impacting millions of users worldwide.

What You'll Do

• Contribute to the development of cross-platform libraries using Rust, enhancing the functionality of our applications.
• Architect, develop, and deliver complex features that are crucial for in-house app developers.
• Collaborate closely with product, web, and mobile development teams to ensure a seamless Photoroom experience across all platforms.
• Take ownership of your work from specification through implementation and integration.
• Engage in the development of our live collaboration platform, similar to tools like Figma or Google Docs.
• Work within a multicultural team of approximately 120 passionate and committed individuals.

Requirements

• Proven experience in software development with Rust.
• Familiarity with C/C++ is highly appreciated.
• Understanding of at least one higher-level language (e.g., Swift, Kotlin, JavaScript/TypeScript).
• Experience delivering cross-platform client-side code with simple interfaces for complex tasks.
• A strong sense of ownership and initiative in making product and technical decisions.
• Experience in a fast-growing startup environment.
• Fluency in English; French is a plus but not required.

Nice to Have

• Experience with OpenGL, Metal, WebGPU, or WebAssembly.
• Familiarity with Elixir or Erlang.
