GC AI is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our OfficeJS team in a fully remote capacity. As a Senior Software Engineer focused on OfficeJS, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of legal work through our innovative AI solutions. What You'll Do

  • Build and refine our Microsoft Word Add-in, enhancing the user experience for legal professionals.
  • Obsess over latency, reliability, and the micro-interactions that differentiate a "useful tool" from a "can't live without it".
  • Architect the bridge between our AI backend and the Word document model, managing tracked changes and comment threads.
  • Ship features like playbook-driven reviews, clause libraries, and contextual drafting that outpace the competition.
  • Collaborate with our AI team to integrate model outputs seamlessly into the legal workflow.

Impact You'll Have

  • Define UX patterns for AI-assisted contract work that will set industry standards.
  • Transform lengthy contract reviews into efficient 10-minute workflows.
  • Drive enterprise adoption by delivering features that resonate with IT teams and legal professionals.
  • Help establish GC AI as the undisputed leader in legal AI for in-house teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building production software, particularly in rich client applications or editor experiences.
  • Strong expertise in TypeScript and React.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Add-ins, VS Code extensions, or similar embedded application development.
  • Deep understanding of real-time collaboration patterns and document manipulation.
  • Proven track record of shipping polished, user-facing features that users love.

Nice To Have

  • Experience with Office.js or the Microsoft Graph API.
  • Background in legal tech, document automation, or CLM platforms.
  • Familiarity with LLM integration patterns and streaming responses.
  • Experience using AI coding tools like Cursor or Copilot, with insights on their effectiveness.
