Senior Software Engineer - E-Bike Marketplace

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join Upway, the leading marketplace for refurbished e-bikes across Europe and the United States. This Senior Software Engineer remote position will require relocation to Paris, France, where you will be part of a small, high-performing team. Your work will directly shape our tech strategy and drive our business forward.

What You'll Do

• Solve real-world problems by understanding complex business challenges and delivering pragmatic technical solutions.
• Work on intricate problems, designing advanced pricing algorithms and structuring comprehensive databases.
• Take full ownership of projects, making decisions and being responsible for the outcome.
• Design and develop robust, scalable systems that power our operations across sourcing, refurbishment, e-commerce, and pricing.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to shape the future of Upway’s tech and processes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a proven ability to design, build, and deliver impactful solutions.
• Strong experience with modern technologies and best practices, including Typescript (NestJS + React), PostgreSQL, BigQuery, GCP, Docker, and Git.
• A business-driven mindset, understanding the “why” behind your code and aligning solutions with business goals.
• Autonomous and accountable, thriving in a high-trust environment.
• A passion for tackling abstract, complex problems and turning them into elegant, scalable solutions.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Vercel, Shopify, Turborepo, Metabase, and Auth0.
• Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and pricing models.
