About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) - Remote to join our dynamic team at Fundraise Up. As an SDET, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our quality infrastructure and tooling across the engineering organization. This position is fully remote, and we prefer candidates who can work during CET hours.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and maintain reusable quality tooling and services for engineering teams.
  • Build and evolve end-to-end (E2E) test frameworks from scratch.
  • Develop and support CI/CD pipelines for automated testing.
  • Work with mocking and service virtualization tools to enhance testing capabilities.
  • Conduct research and development (R&D) and validate technical solutions via proof-of-concept (POC) work.
  • Collaborate with product and QA teams to improve test infrastructure.
  • Build analytics and observability around test quality and stability.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in test automation and quality tooling development.
  • Strong developer background in JavaScript/TypeScript at Middle+ level.
  • Understanding of backend architecture and ability to build a service using NestJS.
  • Experience with React architecture and component lifecycle.
  • Hands-on experience building E2E frameworks from scratch.
  • Proficient with Jest/Mocha and Playwright/Puppeteer.
  • Experience with mocking and service virtualization (e.g., Sinon, Nock, MockServer/mountebank).
  • Familiarity with Docker, Jenkins, and CI/CD best practices for automated testing.
  • Basic understanding of MongoDB and NoSQL principles.
  • Architectural understanding of Kafka, Redis, and ClickHouse.
  • Ability to create reusable solutions for multiple teams and strong problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with contract testing (PACT or similar).
  • Quality analytics experience (ClickHouse, Grafana).
  • Experience reducing flaky tests and optimizing CI.
  • R&D and POC experience.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and additional programming languages.
