Senior Software Developer - OCI Networking & Security

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Developer (OCI Networking & Security) to join our innovative team at Oracle. In this remote role, you will contribute to enhancing the security and reliability of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services, focusing on DDoS protection and network security solutions.

What You'll Do

• Design, implement, and improve distributed systems for OCI’s networking services with an emphasis on security and resiliency.
• Develop and enhance L4/L7 protection services, including DDoS mitigation and Web Application Firewall (WAF), to safeguard against network and application-layer threats.
• Analyze industry trends in network architecture and security threats to guide ongoing system enhancements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure and reliable solutions.
• Produce high-quality code, participate in code reviews, and contribute to technical documentation.
• Support a culture of quality, innovation, and continuous improvement throughout the product lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 5+ years of experience in building and operating distributed systems or cloud-based infrastructure.
• Proficient programming skills in languages such as Go, Java, C++, or Python.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience in producing technical documentation and participating in code/design reviews.

Nice to Have

• Experience developing security, networking, or cloud-based solutions.
• Familiarity with automation, monitoring, and operational support for highly available services.
• Exposure to best practices in large-scale software design and deployment.
