Senior Software Developer - AI Features for JetBrains IDEs

About the Role

We're hiring a Senior Software Developer to join our IntelliJ AI team at JetBrains. This role is pivotal as you will be working on AI-powered features that redefine how developers interact with our IDEs. As a Senior Software Developer, you will have the opportunity to integrate state-of-the-art AI agents into our IDEs, enhancing the developer experience significantly.

What You'll Do

• Integrate advanced AI agents into JetBrains IDEs to improve user experience.
• Enhance agent capabilities by providing them with intelligent tools available in our IDEs.
• Develop novel AI features that have no direct market analogues, exploring the possibilities of modern AI technologies.
• Measure and evaluate the performance of AI features to ensure reliability and reproducibility.
• Take end-to-end ownership of challenging features, demonstrating self-driven initiative.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of Java, Kotlin, or similar programming languages.
• Experience in designing and developing complex software systems.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Experience in building AI-powered features, particularly with LLM-based systems.
• Familiarity with developing IDEs, code editors, or complex desktop applications.

• Experience working on performance-sensitive or correctness-critical systems.
• Knowledge of concurrent programming and performance optimization techniques.
