Senior Security Operations Analyst - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Security Operations Analyst to join our dynamic team at FDM Group. This Senior Security Operations Analyst remote position offers the opportunity to work with a global business and technology consultancy that delivers innovative solutions in the Financial sector. You will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing security incidents, responding to threats in real-time, and ensuring the integrity of our systems and platforms. The role involves working closely with the Security Operations Center (SOC) to achieve Service Level Objectives and enhance our incident response capabilities.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with the SOC Manager to oversee daily activities of the Security Operations Center (SOC).
• Continuously monitor security alerts and incidents using SIEM tools such as Splunk and Google Chronicle.
• Create detection use cases in the SIEM and conduct proactive threat hunting.
• Respond to security incidents, performing initial analysis and escalation as necessary.
• Participate in incident response planning and execution to ensure timely containment and remediation of security breaches.
• Document security incidents and recommend improvements based on identified gaps.
• Prepare detailed reports for stakeholders on security incidents and trends.
• Work closely with cross-functional technical teams to ensure the security of systems and data.

Requirements

• Deep, hands-on experience with Linux operating systems, including system administration and security hardening.
• Verifiable experience in Security Operations and Incident Response.
• Experience with SIEM technologies such as Splunk or Google Chronicle.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols and cybersecurity concepts.
• BS/BA degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with Cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work across different regions in a process-driven organization.

Nice to Have

• Experience with forensic tools and malware analysis.
• Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK framework for threat hunting.
• Experience in incident response planning and execution.
