Senior Risk Assurance Data Specialist - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Risk Assurance Data Specialist to join our team at AIB. This remote position offers a unique opportunity to enhance your skills in data management and risk reporting while contributing to a critical second line team. You will play a vital role in ensuring data quality and governance, making a significant impact on our risk management processes.

What You'll Do

• Source, extract, and manage data from multiple systems; build repeatable data pipelines and reporting outputs using tools such as Power BI and QlikView.
• Define and document data definitions/logic and implement controls to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Partner with Risk, Finance, Technology, and business stakeholders to agree on data requirements, resolve data quality issues, and deliver well-governed reporting within deadlines.
• Maintain clear documentation, version control, and an appropriate control environment for MI, aligned to AIB policies and risk/compliance expectations.
• Define, calculate, and maintain key risk metrics and data models; perform trend and root-cause analysis and translate findings into actionable insight.
• Lead the design and delivery of MI and data quality improvements, including automated validation checks, reconciliations, issue logging, and remediation tracking.

Requirements

• Strong data management and analysis capability: ability to source data, apply data quality controls, interpret results, and produce clear MI and insight.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to produce concise and effective presentations for senior audiences with excellent attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize, and to work to tight deadlines.
• Self-starter with the ability to work on own initiative and strong attention to detail, completing tasks to a very high degree of accuracy.
• Experience working with enterprise data platforms, reporting tools, and/or banking data sources is an advantage.

Nice to Have

• Experience with SQL and data governance frameworks.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance in the banking sector.
• Knowledge of data visualization tools beyond Power BI and QlikView.
