Senior Product Manager - Virtual Power Plant (Remote)

About the Role

We're hiring a Senior Product Manager - Virtual Power Plant (Remote) to join our innovative team at ev.energy. In this role, you'll lead product management for our Virtual Power Plant (VPP) team, responsible for creating software that connects electric vehicles (EVs) and chargers to balance grid supply and demand. This is a high-impact position where you'll drive the product vision and strategy, manage roadmapping, and lead key commercial projects.

What You'll Do

• Define the product vision and 12-month strategy for our VPP platform, focusing on the US residential energy market.
• Advance our home battery product by integrating residential battery systems into our VPP alongside EVs and chargers.
• Lead the integration of AI/ML models into VPP operations to optimize charging decisions and improve operational workflows.
• Serve as the technical product expert in prospect pitches and customer demos, articulating our VPP capabilities.
• Support engineering teams with sprint and quarterly planning, tracking sales commitments, and drafting OKRs.
• Manage partner migrations, customer deliveries, and pilot programs to ensure successful implementation.
• Communicate the VPP team's progress across the organization through initiative briefs and executive reporting.

Requirements

• 4+ years of product management experience in technical domains such as energy, IoT, or backend systems.
• Experience building AI-powered products and working with data science teams.
• Deep knowledge of residential distributed energy resources (DERs) and familiarity with grid integration standards.
• Proven experience in the US utility market, particularly in demand response and VPP programs.
• Outstanding communication skills, able to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Strong project management skills, with a focus on execution and handling ambiguity.

Nice to Have

• Experience in technical selling and winning business through effective presentations.
• Familiarity with regulatory proceedings and program design in the US utility market.
• Understanding of the grid services value stack and how residential DER technologies contribute value.
