Senior Principal Software Engineer - Embedded and Real Time

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer - Embedded and Real Time to join our innovative team at Northrop Grumman. This remote position offers the opportunity to work on revolutionary systems that impact lives globally. You will be involved in designing, developing, and maintaining embedded mission systems applications, utilizing your expertise in software engineering best practices.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, integrate, modify, and maintain customized embedded mission systems applications.
• Participate in the full software development life cycle, including requirements development, modeling, design, application development, testing, integration, and maintenance.
• Work collaboratively in Agile Scrum teams to deliver high-quality software products.
• Architect and develop embedded mission systems software applications on real-time operating systems.
• Utilize tools such as Atlassian suite, GitHub, and Jenkins for software change control and CI/CD processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 8 years of related experience; or a Master's degree with 6 years; or a PhD with 4 years.
• Proficient in C, Object Oriented C++, and/or Python for safety-critical applications.
• Experience in software testing and developing low-level software requirements.
• Active DoD Secret level clearance or higher.
• Familiarity with real-time operating systems such as VxWorks, Integrity, or Real-Time Embedded Linux.

Nice to Have

• Strong understanding of C/C++ languages, including templates and memory management.
• Experience with Agile Software Development methodologies.
• Knowledge of static and dynamic code analysis tools.
