Senior Principal RF Mechanical Engineer - Defense Solutions

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Principal RF Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Raytheon. In this role, you will be responsible for providing innovative design solutions for RF mechanical products. This position is based in Huntsville, Alabama, and is not remote. You will lead multidiscipline teams and work closely with engineering organizations to establish technology roadmaps and contribute to general innovation.

What You'll Do

• Lead mechanical design activities involving RF hardware, ensuring high-quality work that meets cost, schedule, and performance expectations.
• Provide technical oversight and delegate tasks effectively within your team.
• Conduct trade studies to determine the best solutions for complex engineering problems.
• Collaborate with customer personnel and program leadership to define and refine requirements.
• Mentor and coach other engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in design, analysis, and leadership of RF mechanical products such as antennas and circuit card assemblies.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software and creation of Technical Data Packages (TDPs) using GD&T.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for presenting design documentation to leadership.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.

Nice to Have

• Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience as a Responsible Engineering Authority (REA) or Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL).
• Familiarity with RF PCB material stack-ups and Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) layout.
