Senior Payroll Specialist - Remote Position

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to join our team remotely. In this role, you will build and maintain effective working relationships across all departments at RESA Power. As a Senior Payroll Specialist remote, you will be a trusted advisor for managers and employees, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing.

What You'll Do

• Act as the main contact with our third-party payroll provider to ensure all employee data is accurate and timecards are submitted on time.
• Validate and provide manual adjustments to payroll, reviewing and approving weekly and bi-weekly payrolls.
• Complete Union Reporting for all Unions across the company and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws.
• Interact with HR, Operations, and Accounting to coordinate payroll changes and ensure accuracy.
• Integrate acquired organizations into the payroll system in partnership with finance and HR.
• Coordinate annual commission plans and communicate them effectively.
• Champion corporate payroll initiatives and recommend process improvements.
• Ensure the proper processing of manual checks for designated groups.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience with a minimum of 3 years in payroll.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
• Experience with UKG payroll processing and multi-state payroll, especially California.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver results.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and work collaboratively in a team.

Nice to Have

• Canadian payroll knowledge.
• Experience with union payroll processing.
• Proven continuous improvement experience.
