Senior Payments Analyst - Remote Role

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Payments Analyst to join our dynamic finance team in a fully remote capacity. As a key member of our organization, you will leverage your expertise in payments to enhance our processes and drive revenue growth. This Senior Payments Analyst remote role is pivotal in shaping our payment strategy and ensuring a seamless customer experience.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct in-depth payment data analysis to identify financial patterns, trends, and improvement opportunities.
• Analyze payment data to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for optimization, enhancing payment acceptance and customer billing practices while reducing fraud.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of payment strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Assess and manage risks associated with payment processes, including fraud prevention and compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement payment strategies that align with business goals.
• Provide training and support to internal teams on payment-related topics, ensuring a clear understanding of payment processes and best practices.
• Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to payments, including emerging technologies and security measures.
• Identify and implement opportunities to optimize payment processes, enhance customer experience, and drive revenue growth.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of payment systems, identifying areas for optimization and efficiency improvement.
• Provide subject matter expertise on payment processing, fraud prevention, compliance, and risk management.
• Actively participate in strategic discussions, analyzing finance and payments needs, and making data-driven recommendations to shape the organization's payments strategy.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners, such as payment processors and financial institutions, to ensure seamless integration and efficient payment operations.

Requirements

• 2–4+ years of experience in a highly analytical consumer, marketplace, fintech, or similar data-driven business.
• Proven track record of delivering actionable insights using data.
• Strong SQL skills for efficient extraction and analysis of data from complex datasets (must-have).
• Strong visualization skills in PowerBI (preferred), Tableau, Looker, or similar BI tools.
• Experience with Python is a plus; willingness to learn is important.
• Familiarity with A/B testing and experimentation (experience with MAB is a plus).
• Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience in payments, acquirer/processor/payment gateway environments, or high-risk merchant space.
• Experience leveraging AI tools to structure analyses, automate workflows, or support anomaly detection.
