About the Role

We are seeking a Senior OpenShift/Kubernetes Engineer to join our team remotely. This role focuses on supporting enterprise platform engineering initiatives centered around OpenShift, allowing you to leverage your expertise in Kubernetes to build and maintain robust container platforms.

What You'll Do

  • Lead hands-on administration, buildout, and support of OpenShift clusters in on-premises (VMware-based) environments.
  • Design and deploy new Kubernetes/OpenShift clusters as part of data center consolidation efforts.
  • Manage day-to-day platform operations, including incident resolution, patching, upgrades, and performance optimization.
  • Deploy and manage platform components using Helm and ArgoCD, troubleshooting and debugging deployment issues as they arise.
  • Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to onboard workloads and deliver platform enhancements.
  • Contribute to platform standardization and automation using GitLab/Azure DevOps pipelines and scripting.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to understand requirements, provide technical guidance, and support platform adoption.
  • Assist in transitioning away from Rancher to a fully OpenShift-based Kubernetes environment.

Requirements

  • 6–10 years of experience as a Senior Engineer in infrastructure or DevOps-focused roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes platforms, including Rancher and OpenShift.
  • Proficient in Kubernetes command-line tooling (kubectl, oc, etc.) and scripting for operational tasks.
  • Experience with Helm and ArgoCD.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, optimize, and support Kubernetes clusters in both on-prem and cloud contexts.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working across application and infrastructure teams.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline tools and deployment automation.
  • Exposure to observability and monitoring platforms (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).
