About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Offensive Security Engineer to join our team at BitMEX. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced professionals to work in a dynamic environment that focuses on maintaining the security of our crypto trading platform. As a Senior Offensive Security Engineer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our security posture and protecting our systems from various threats.

What You'll Do

  • Manage our bug bounty program, reviewing reports, engaging with researchers, and collaborating with software engineering to resolve vulnerabilities.
  • Review the outcomes of external penetration tests, replicate issues, and work with engineering teams to address findings.
  • Conduct internal penetration tests on our software and infrastructure stack.
  • Participate in red and purple team exercises to test our monitoring and response capabilities.
  • Engage in security research and threat intelligence activities, collaborating with security response teams.
  • Perform application security assessments and code reviews, providing internal training for engineers.
  • Assist in incident response by triaging and investigating security issues.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Information Security with a proven track record in offensive security.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive work ethic.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Istio, Envoy, and AWS cloud platform is a plus.
  • Familiarity with GitHub CI/CD / Actions and/or ArgoCD is advantageous.
  • Development experience in Go is a bonus.
  • Experience in derivatives and cryptocurrency is a plus.

  • Advanced skills in security technologies and practices.
  • Certifications or recognition in offensive security are beneficial.
