Senior NoSQL Database Administrator - Remote Role
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior NoSQL Database Administrator to join our team in a fully remote capacity. This role is critical as you will support the Property Engagement Platform (PEP), a mission-critical, customer-facing system. As a Senior NoSQL Database Administrator remote position, you will be responsible for ensuring high availability, low latency, and optimal performance of our NoSQL databases.
What You'll Do
- Manage and optimize Couchbase and AWS DynamoDB databases in production environments.
- Implement and maintain NoSQL data modeling, access patterns, and consistency models.
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response for 24/7 platforms.
- Document operational best practices and create runbooks for database management.
- Collaborate with Cloud Engineering and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration and performance.
Requirements
- 2-4 years of hands-on experience with Couchbase in a production environment.
- Strong operational support experience with AWS DynamoDB.
- Understanding of NoSQL data modeling and performance tuning.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.
- Ability to work independently and manage environments end-to-end.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Amazon DocumentDB or MongoDB-compatible platforms.
- Familiarity with Datadog for NoSQL monitoring.
- Background in transitioning workloads from relational databases to NoSQL.
