About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Materials Engineer to join our Innovation Group, focusing on applied research and engineering development. In this Senior Materials Engineer remote position, you will drive new product innovations while ensuring the continuity of raw material supply for our global operations.

What You'll Do

  • Design, process, and test reinforcement materials for manufactured rubber goods.
  • Lead or support new product development projects, ensuring quality, performance, and cost efficiency.
  • Coordinate lab and production trials with cross-functional teams including Quality, Operations, and Continuous Improvement.
  • Analyze and interpret test results to guide material improvements and validation.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and suppliers to manage raw material continuity and availability.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve material or production issues.
  • Prepare technical reports, data analyses, and presentations.
  • Develop or refine testing methods and documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemistry, or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in materials development or manufacturing.
  • Master’s or PhD preferred.
  • Proficiency in experimental design and statistical data analysis.
  • Experience with Minitab, JMP, and Design of Experiments methodologies desired.

Nice to Have

  • Certifications such as Six Sigma, IATF 16949 knowledge, ACS Rubber Certification.
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and technical writing skills.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary ranging from $115,000 to $145,000 plus a 10% bonus.
  • Comprehensive benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD, LTD, and Tuition Reimbursement.

  • 401(k) plan with a 3% company contribution and an additional 3% match.
