About the Role

We are hiring a Senior Material Planner and Logistics Specialist to join our dynamic team at Xometry. As a Senior Material Planner and Logistics Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient planning, procurement, and management of materials and logistics to support our production and operational needs. What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive material plans to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components for production.
  • Analyze demand forecasts, production schedules, and inventory levels to create accurate material requirements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and customers to manage procurement processes, negotiate terms, and ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Oversee inventory levels, track material usage, and implement strategies to optimize stock levels while minimizing excess inventory and stockouts.
  • Plan and coordinate logistics activities, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Analyze data related to material usage, inventory levels, and supply chain performance, preparing reports and presentations for management.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in material planning and logistics operations.
  • Work closely with production, procurement, and quality assurance teams to align activities with overall business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in material planning, logistics, or supply chain management, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft 365) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Familiarity with advanced data analytics tools.
  • Knowledge of international logistics and customs regulations.
