Senior Kubernetes/​Go Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Kubernetes/Go Engineer to join our Cloud Infrastructure Compute team on a remote basis. As a Senior Staff Engineer, you will be the technical leader for the lifecycle management of our Kubernetes compute platform. This role is critical as it enables our Cloud Infrastructure organization to work efficiently and effectively, enhancing all aspects of the engineering experience. The compute platform serves as the foundation for all features that Cloud Infrastructure delivers, including security, networking, developer experience, and efficiency. Your expertise will ensure the consistency required to enable delivery across multiple cloud vendors.

What You'll Do

• Provide technical leadership on high-impact projects, influencing and coaching a distributed team of engineers.
• Deliver enhancements that drive cost efficiency of our cloud platform.
• Facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines.
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables effectively.
• Contribute to the multi-year strategy to evolve our Cloud Platform.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance the compute platform.

Requirements

• BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 12+ years of relevant work experience in infrastructure.
• Extensive work experience with Go (Golang).
• 4+ years of expertise with a public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their infrastructure as a service offerings (e.g., EC2).
• Experience setting technical direction, planning, and executing large projects spanning multiple teams.
• Advanced Kubernetes expertise, including hands-on experience writing Kubernetes controllers and working with admission webhooks.
• Experience with Istio/Envoy is preferred.
• A passion for efficiency, availability, quality, and developer experience.

Nice to Have

• Experience in mentoring junior engineers.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture.
