About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Game Programmer (C# remote) to join our dynamic team at RocketWerkz, a leading PC video games studio based in Auckland, New Zealand. Founded by Dean Hall, the creator of renowned survival games like DayZ and Icarus, we pride ourselves on our innovative approach to game development. As a Senior Game Programmer (C# remote), you will play a crucial role in developing exciting new games using our custom BRUTAL game development framework.

What You'll Do

• Rapidly prototype game systems and gameplay in C#.
• Continuously adapt code based on gameplay and designer feedback.
• Test, debug, and profile code to enhance the gaming experience.
• Engage with players through Discord and online forums to gather feedback.
• Champion the desired game experience and provide insights to the BRUTAL tools team.
• Utilize JetBrains Rider, GitHub, and GitHub Copilot in your development process.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software development experience, preferably in the gaming industry.
• Extensive experience in C# programming.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively within a programming team.
• A tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Passion for game development and a strong portfolio showcasing your work.

Nice to Have

• Experience with other graphics APIs or game engines.
• Familiarity with C++ programming.
• A published game or an unpublished portfolio of game projects.
