About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer (PHP/Laravel, AI) to join our dynamic team at Kajae. This fully remote role allows you to work from anywhere in Latin America while contributing to innovative projects that leverage artificial intelligence. As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer, you will play a crucial role in modernizing legacy systems and enhancing our product offerings.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and maintain full-stack features using PHP (Laravel), TypeScript, VueJS, and TailwindCSS.
- Modernize legacy systems and contribute to evolving the platform into a scalable, clean architecture.
- Solve complex engineering challenges related to data integrity and zero-downtime deployments.
- Improve code quality by implementing CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and best practices (TDD).
- Optimize backend performance, including SQL queries and application bottlenecks.
- Architect and lead development of complex features from concept to production.
- Collaborate with leadership to shape product direction and technical roadmap.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor other engineers to elevate team standards.
- Integrate AI capabilities into the product and development workflows where relevant.
Requirements
- 10+ years of full-stack development experience, with a strong focus on PHP and Laravel.
- Proven experience building and scaling modern SaaS applications.
- Strong, hands-on experience working with AI tools and integrating AI into software products.
- Solid understanding of how AI can be applied to improve engineering workflows and product capabilities.
- Strong expertise in software architecture and system design.
- Advanced frontend experience with VueJS (Composition API), TypeScript, and TailwindCSS.
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure and deployments (AWS, DigitalOcean, OVH).
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and CI/CD pipeline implementation.
- Advanced knowledge of MySQL, including schema design and query optimization.
- Strong understanding of testing methodologies, including TDD and integration testing.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and drive technical decisions.
