Senior Engineering Team Lead - AI & Cloud Focus

About the Role

We’re hiring a Senior Engineering Team Lead to join our innovative team at ScholarshipOwl. This Senior Engineering Team Lead remote position is pivotal in connecting our product, design, engineering, and B2B sales teams. You will leverage your expertise to guide your team through the architecture, implementation, and delivery of our AI-driven scholarship management platforms.

What You’ll Do

• Drive technical execution by participating in daily stand-ups and conducting thorough multi-stack code reviews.
• Act as the primary technical Point of Contact (POC) for all B2B/GTM projects, managing communication with sales and campaign managers.
• Lead Agile ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Retro, Review, and Backlog Grooming, ensuring seamless integration into our weekly Scrum flow.
• Champion AI integration by leading the development of AI agent workflows and experimenting with new AI techniques.
• Monitor system health and operations, taking ownership of daily operations and leading deliveries through rigorous data analysis and querying.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in a leadership role as a Technical Team Lead or Engineering Manager.
• Strong backend architecture foundations with extensive experience in GCP (Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, Datastore) and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Cloud Build).
• Excellent database querying skills, specifically with MySQL and BigQuery.
• Solid understanding of AI agent orchestration, including LLMs and Python.
• Exceptional communication skills to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical teams.

Nice to Have

• Deep expertise in PHP/Laravel, Nuxt 2/3/4, Vue.js, or FastAPI.
• Advanced Kubernetes/Helm experience.
• Background in B2B SaaS, EdTech, or MarTech/CRM integrations.
