Senior Electric Motor Engineer - Aerospace & Defense

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Electric Motor Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This Senior Electric Motor Engineer remote position focuses on the design and development of electric motors for aerospace, defense, and automotive propulsion systems. You will play a critical role in delivering high-reliability, safety-critical electric machines that meet stringent regulatory and operational requirements.

What You'll Do

• Lead the design and development of electric motors for propulsion applications, including e-propulsion and hybrid systems.
• Define motor architectures considering power density, efficiency, and fault tolerance.
• Conduct advanced simulations using industry-standard tools like ANSYS Maxwell and MATLAB/Simulink.
• Support motor-inverter-control system integration and prototype builds.
• Analyze test results and implement corrective design actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design for manufacturability and quality.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge transfer within the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master’s or PhD preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in electric motor design for aerospace or defense.
• Deep knowledge of electric machine theory and high-power electric drives.
• Strong experience with simulation, modeling, and test correlation.
• Familiarity with certification frameworks and functional safety concepts.
