About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Senior Data Scientist to join our team at Vodafone, focusing on remote opportunities. In this role, you will design and develop advanced analytical models that transform complex datasets into meaningful insights. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will support local markets, partner markets, and corporate accounts by applying descriptive, predictive, and optimization techniques to solve business challenges and inform decision-making across various products, services, and customer segments.
What You'll Do
- Build, test, and deploy analytics models using structured and unstructured data to address defined business use cases.
- Conduct data preparation, cleansing, and optimization, including SQL and NoSQL processing, to ensure high-quality analytical outputs.
- Apply descriptive and predictive modeling techniques to support strategic business decisions across markets and customer segments.
- Collaborate with commercial teams to present insights and actionable recommendations derived from models and analytical results.
- Contribute to defining customer-facing analytics use cases and supporting product roadmap development.
- Support the development of efficient analytics lifecycle processes that enable fast and cost-effective delivery.
- Participate in business requirements analysis and document specifications for information requests.
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of experience in advanced analytics, including descriptive, predictive, and optimization methods.
- Comfortable working with complex, high-volume datasets, ideally using Hadoop/Spark environments.
- Skilled in SQL and databases such as Teradata, Oracle, and MySQL.
- Knowledgeable in applying machine-learning techniques to real-world use cases.
- Proficient with analytical tools such as Python, R, SAS, MATLAB, SPSS, and Teradata Warehouse Miner.
- Holds a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or Statistics.
- Excellent communication skills to explain complex concepts in simple language.
