About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our team at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). This Senior Data Scientist remote position offers the opportunity to engage in groundbreaking research and apply advanced machine learning techniques to solve complex scientific challenges. What You'll Do

  • Develop and implement scalable machine learning models and algorithms to address real-world scientific challenges.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to translate data into actionable insights and drive impactful research.
  • Engage in the development of generative AI systems and ensure their robustness and efficiency.
  • Apply statistical and analytical methods to both structured and unstructured data to enhance decision-making processes.
  • Lead technical projects, managing timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communications effectively.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in science or engineering with 9+ years of relevant experience, or MS/MA with 7+ years, or PhD with 5+ years.
  • Proven experience in machine learning, deep learning, and statistical analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with Python and modern machine learning frameworks.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AI assurance and evaluation methods.
  • Familiarity with RF signal processing and sensing systems.
  • Knowledge of optimization and algorithmic methods for decision-making.
