Senior Data Scientist - Remote Opportunities

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our team remotely at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). As a Senior Data Scientist remote, you will work at the intersection of scientific discovery and advanced machine learning, contributing to significant scientific and national challenges.

What You'll Do

• Develop scalable models and algorithms that advance research and enable high-impact decisions across various domains.
• Design and implement machine learning and deep learning architectures for high-dimensional and multimodal data.
• Translate complex data into actionable scientific insights, improving decision-making processes.
• Lead technical projects, including scoping, planning, and delivering results on time and within budget.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to push the boundaries of data and machine learning capabilities.

Requirements

• BS/BA in science or engineering with 7+ years of relevant experience, or MS/MA with 5+ years, or PhD with 3+ years.
• Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks and tools, including Python ecosystems and modern frameworks.
• Strong understanding of AI assurance, security, and evaluation methods.
• Experience in statistical and analytical methods for structured and unstructured data.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance.

Nice to Have

• Experience with generative AI and foundation models.
• Knowledge of RF signal processing and sensing systems.
• Familiarity with robotics and autonomy systems.
