Senior Data Platform Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to join our team in a remote capacity. This role is pivotal in building and scaling the core data platform that powers mission-critical hardware and manufacturing operations. As a Senior Data Platform Engineer, you will engage in highly technical, systems-oriented work focused on real-time data processing, large-scale reliability, and high-impact architectural ownership.

What You'll Work On

• Leading the architecture and implementation of platform services.
• Influencing the platform roadmap and long-term strategy.
• Owning reliability, observability, SLAs, and system performance.
• Serving as a senior technical partner to unlock engineering scale.
• Engaging in hands-on development and architecture design reviews.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in software engineering and data platform development.
• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, Java or Scala, Spark, and Kafka or Flink.
• Expertise in systems fundamentals and distributed architecture.
• Experience in secure or restricted environments is a plus.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code practices.

Nice to Have

• Experience with hardware or physical system data.
• Proven track record of building internal platforms or tooling.
• Experience in making architectural decisions at platform scale.
