About the Role

Join Shutterfly as a Senior Continuous Improvement Engineer II, where you will play a crucial role in enhancing our manufacturing operations. This position focuses on driving continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence using Lean Six Sigma principles. As a Senior Continuous Improvement Engineer II, you will be responsible for identifying opportunities for process improvement, waste removal, and cost reduction, making this a pivotal role in our organization.

What You'll Do

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement events using Lean Six Sigma tools.
  • Plan, facilitate, and execute Kaizen events on the production floor.
  • Teach and coach cross-functional teams on Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Evaluate and prioritize potential improvements based on gains and required effort.
  • Establish a clear implementation plan and criteria for project success.
  • Resolve technical problems related to equipment, product formulation, and regulations.
  • Conduct detailed analysis to accurately describe current issues and specify deliverables.
  • Regularly monitor the implementation of solutions to achieve objectives and expected benefits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, finance, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • Master’s Degree in management or operations preferred.
  • Black Belt or Shainin Journeyman certification required; Master Blackbelt preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in continuous improvement roles.
  • Strong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, especially Excel.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced and changing environments.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in project management.
  • Familiarity with 5S and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence decision-making.
