Senior Cloud Database Administrator - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Cloud Database Administrator to join our team remotely. In this role, you will administer and modernize cloud-first data platforms, focusing on Azure and Snowflake, while also providing support for on-premises SQL Server. This position is crucial for ensuring secure operations, performance optimization, and high availability of our data systems.

What You'll Do

• Administer and modernize cloud-first data platforms, including Azure and Snowflake, with secondary support for on-premises SQL Server.
• Focus on centralized automated deployments and secure operations, ensuring compliance with HIPAA/PHI regulations.
• Optimize performance and availability while continuously improving processes through automation.
• Build and operate standardized release processes and CI/CD pipelines for database, ETL/ELT, and analytics artifacts.
• Utilize strong source control and change management discipline to enhance data reliability.
• Work with Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, and Snowflake to deliver high-quality data solutions.
• Develop SQL code, including DDL/DML, stored procedures, and SSIS packages, to support BI and analytics tools.
• Implement scripting and programming using PowerShell and Python to automate tasks and improve efficiency.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience administering and supporting enterprise data platforms, focusing on cloud services (Azure and Snowflake).
• 6+ years of experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines for database and analytics artifacts.
• Expertise in cloud data platform administration, particularly with Azure and Snowflake.
• Advanced knowledge of database reliability, performance, and disaster recovery for SQL Server and cloud platforms.
• Strong scripting and programming skills, particularly in PowerShell and Python.
• Experience with BI tools such as Tableau and Alteryx.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
• Experience with data governance and compliance frameworks.
• Knowledge of advanced analytics and machine learning concepts.
