About the Role
At UpCloud, we are looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer remote to join our dedicated team. You will be instrumental in building our data infrastructure, ensuring it supports our strategic business areas. What You'll Do
- Dedicate approximately 60% of your time to programming, focusing on building our data platform and developing ETL processes.
- Manage Directed Acyclic Graphs (DAGs) to ensure our data formation is robust and reliable.
- Spend around 30% of your time as a Data Analyst, transforming business questions from various departments into actionable data models.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to ensure they have the data necessary to drive UpCloud’s growth.
- Organize and take ownership of our in-house systems to enhance data accessibility and usability for all users.
Requirements
- Relevant software engineering experience with strong skills in Python and SQL.
- Advanced experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), particularly BigQuery, and familiarity with other cloud data environments.
- Strong background in data analysis architecture and managing DAGs using tools like Airflow and dbt.
- A "Builder" mindset, capable of creating efficient data structures from scratch.
- Excellent communication skills to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Looker Studio, Tableau, or Power BI.
- A background as a Data Engineer, Data Scientist, or Data Analyst transitioning into business-centric roles.
- Previous experience in small data teams with a hands-on approach.
