Join our team as a Senior Backend Software Engineer - Remote. At Commerce, our mission is to empower businesses to innovate and grow within our open, AI-driven commerce ecosystem. As part of our fully remote Engineering team at Feedonomics, you will be integral in shaping the future of commerce by delivering and scaling core infrastructure components that power our robust, high-performance, data-intensive SaaS platform.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate on the architecture, design, and development of scalable and highly available applications and services.
• Solve complex infrastructure-related problems with code, developing and providing post-release support for scalable applications.
• Identify and implement enhancements to DevOps practices and tooling, leveraging automation to enhance the robustness of the CI/CD pipeline.
• Drive technology design and articulate architecture solution options to product owners and Engineering leadership.
• Conduct post-mortems to analyze and prevent repeat failures.
• Champion Continuous Improvement in end-to-end infrastructure and systems.
• Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and processes that solve concrete business problems.
• Become a domain expert who follows industry trends and applies best practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of programming experience in backend languages, particularly PHP (strongly preferred), Python, GoLang, or Java.
• 2+ years of experience with MySQL or similar technologies.
• Strong understanding of database schema design, caching, and scalability.
• Strong understanding of various communication protocols (TCP, RPC, etc.) and Distributed Systems.
• Experience with caching technologies (e.g., Redis or Memcached) is a plus.
• DevOps experience preferred.
• Experience with full-stack observability tools like New Relic is strongly preferred.
• Workable understanding of Linux operating systems and modern CI/CD and containerization tools like Docker.
• Ability to perform time and memory complexity analysis.
• BS or higher degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
