Senior Backend Software Engineer - Remote at TRM Labs

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our dynamic team at TRM Labs. This remote position offers the opportunity to work on critical engineering challenges that protect civilization. As a member of our Product Engineering team, you will build reliable and scalable software solutions that serve our customers and internal teams.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop backend APIs with a focus on performance and customer experience.
• Work on complex engineering problems that enhance your technical and project management skills.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to transform functional visions into actionable roadmaps.
• Develop and maintain public APIs that are integral to our API Product suite.
• Support internal business units through shared engineering services and functionalities.
• Build cross-functional relationships to understand and empower organizational missions.

Requirements

• Proven experience in designing and building scalable systems, web applications, APIs, and services.
• Understanding of storage systems, including relational databases like Postgres.
• Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong initiative and ownership, with the ability to navigate ambiguity.
• Experience working collaboratively in a diverse, cross-functional environment.
• Exceptional problem structuring skills to prioritize critical issues.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Node.js (not required but beneficial).
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and sprint planning.
• Previous experience in a high-velocity team environment.
