Senior Backend Scala Developer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Scala Developer to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Backend Scala Developer, you will develop scalable backend software using TDD and work with cutting-edge technologies in an AWS environment.

What You'll Do

• Develop and maintain high-quality Scala applications running in AWS.
• Collaborate with an agile team to design and implement scalable backend systems.
• Utilize TDD methodologies to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to team members.
• Analyze and define software specifications to fulfill business requirements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Scala.
• Strong understanding of Scala internals, including class loading, memory management, and concurrency.
• Experience building low-latency, high-volume, distributed, and scalable backend systems.
• Proficient in developing RESTful APIs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AWS services.
• Familiarity with Cats Effect, Http4s, Fs2, Akka, and Spring.
• Frontend development experience is a plus.
