Senior Azure Data Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We're excited to announce an opening for a Senior Azure Data Engineer remote position at Haystack. This is a high-impact contract role where you will be at the forefront of developing scalable, cloud-native data platforms. What You'll Do

• Architect and build robust, scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Azure Data Lake.
• Drive data warehouse development and optimization using Azure SQL and Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Implement high-performance data processing solutions using Spark and Databricks clusters.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to integrate diverse data sources into a unified cloud architecture.
• Champion engineering best practices by contributing to CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.

Requirements

• Deep technical expertise across the Azure Data Stack, specifically Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, and Azure SQL.
• Mastery of Python and SQL for advanced data engineering and complex ETL development.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Databricks and Apache Spark for large-scale data processing.
• Proven track record of building and maintaining scalable data architectures and modern data warehousing solutions.
• Strong understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD integration within a data environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud-native architectures and microservices.
• Knowledge of additional programming languages such as R or Scala.
