Senior AI Engineer - Counter-small Unmanned Aerial Systems

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior AI Engineer to join our team at 9 Mothers, where you will play a crucial role in developing cutting-edge technology to counter small unmanned aerial systems (c-sUAS). This position is based in Austin, TX, and offers a unique opportunity to work on real-world applications of AI in defense technology.

What You'll Do

• Design, train, and optimize novel neural network architectures for threat classification and control systems.
• Deploy low-latency models to edge devices, ensuring rapid response times for interception.
• Implement sensor fusion techniques to create a comprehensive world model from various data streams.
• Develop anomaly detection systems to identify new threats not present in existing training data.
• Collaborate with robotics and computer vision teams to ensure seamless integration of AI models into operational frameworks.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Python and deep experience with PyTorch and TensorFlow.
• Strong understanding of linear algebra and calculus to develop core algorithms from scratch.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment focused on iterative development.
• Experience optimizing models for resource-constrained hardware.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to pass a background check.
