Senior Accounts Manager - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Accounts Manager - Remote to join our dynamic team at Sumer. As a key player in our finance department, you will take ownership of technical delivery while guiding junior team members and supporting clients with confidence. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients and contribute to their financial growth strategies.

What You'll Do

• Prepare year-end statutory accounts and corporation tax returns for various clients.
• Develop management accounts that meet the needs of our diverse client portfolio.
• Review and prepare VAT returns, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
• Build strong, lasting relationships with clients, becoming their trusted advisor.
• Manage a client portfolio, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
• Oversee the preparation and review of client accounts, supporting decision-making processes.
• Supervise and mentor junior colleagues, fostering their growth through knowledge sharing.
• Effectively manage your workload and deadlines to deliver exceptional service.

Requirements

• Full or part qualified (ACCA, ICAEW or equivalent).
• Strong technical grounding in accounts and tax.
• Proficient with accounting and tax systems.
• Commercially minded with a clear understanding of client business contexts.
• Organized with the ability to balance multiple tasks and priorities.
• A positive ‘can do’ attitude towards clients and colleagues.
• Ability to visit clients on-site (valid driving license and access to a vehicle required).

Nice to Have

• Experience in advisory projects.
• Familiarity with cloud-based accounting software.
• Previous experience in a client-facing role.
