Revenue Protection Officer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Revenue Protection Officer to join our team at Merseyrail. This remote Revenue Protection Officer position allows you to play a vital role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our transportation services. As a key member of the Revenue Protection Department, you will be responsible for minimizing fare evasion and revenue loss while working with the public in a dynamic environment.

What You'll Do

• Manage conflict situations effectively, ensuring a safe resolution.
• Maintain a fair but firm approach to incidents of ticketless travel.
• Ensure customers feel valued, especially during train service disruptions or events.
• Minimize opportunities for passengers to travel without valid tickets or passes.
• Issue enforcement notices upon discovering incidents of ticketless travel.
• Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times.
• Communicate effectively with customers, providing real-time information when necessary.
• Self-manage when unsupervised, ensuring a duty of care to all customers and colleagues.

Requirements

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Relevant experience in a similar role or enforcement background.
• Confidence and self-assurance to remain calm in difficult situations.
• Basic numeracy, literacy, and IT skills for reporting and documentation.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods.

Nice to Have

• Experience in customer service roles.
• Knowledge of transportation regulations.
• First aid certification.
