Remote Staff Software Engineer - Distributed Simulation

About the Role

We are looking for a Remote Staff Software Engineer to lead our Distributed Simulation efforts at Anduril Industries. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology that transforms military capabilities. As a Remote Staff Software Engineer, you will be responsible for building a new distributed simulation product that enables heterogeneous groups of robots to collaborate across multiple physical sites.

What You'll Do

• Lead the design and implementation of a distributed simulation product.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather user requirements and scope the project.
• Architect solutions that account for differing visions of “truth” on the server and client.
• Optimize latency between clients and the server for real-time performance.
• Determine where to perform GPU-intensive computations effectively.
• Manage the registration of new robots within the network.
• Ensure software updates are shipped without compromising availability.
• Facilitate data movement across segregated networks.
• Monitor simulation state for post-exercise debugging and reporting.

Requirements

• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
• Proven experience in software engineering, particularly in distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of networking, AI, and simulation technologies.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a remote environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Nice to Have

• Experience with robotics and autonomous systems.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms.
• Knowledge of 3D modeling and simulation tools.
