About the Role

We're hiring a Remote Solutions Engineer to join our dynamic team at Tailscale. As a Remote Solutions Engineer, you will play a critical role in driving new business for our commercial customers. This position requires a blend of technical expertise in networking and security along with strong sales acumen. You will partner closely with Account Executives to co-own a book of business and act as a trusted advisor to our customers.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with Account Executives to identify, qualify, and close new commercial customer opportunities.
  • Lead technical discovery sessions, solution architecture, demos, and proof of concepts (POCs) to accelerate decision-making.
  • Guide complex multi-stakeholder deals, ensuring alignment between technical and business objectives.
  • Provide structured feedback to shape the product roadmap and go-to-market strategy.
  • Build scalable enablement resources, demo environments, and solution blueprints for the Solutions Engineering team.

Requirements

  • 4-5+ years in a customer-facing Solutions Engineer or Solutions Architect role within networking or security software.
  • Proven experience co-owning pipeline and influencing quota outcomes with Sales.
  • Deep understanding of zero-trust networking, secure connectivity, and IAM integrations (SSO, SAML, OIDC).
  • Hands-on architecture experience with AWS, GCP, and/or Azure.
  • Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls) and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical features into business value.
  • Experience thriving in high-growth or startup environments.
