Remote Software Engineer - Custom Development for Healthcare
About the Role
We are seeking a Remote Software Engineer to join our Custom Development IT team at RemoteHunter. In this role, you will collaborate with medical physicists and IT professionals to deliver secure, scalable solutions for an Enterprise Radiation Oncology Department supporting both Photon and Proton clinics. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced Agile environment where you will manage multiple initiatives and reprioritize as needed.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain custom system software for healthcare applications.
- Create middleware to integrate measurement hardware, software interfaces, TPS scripting, and data flow.
- Develop one-off code solutions to optimize and automate unique clinical processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering or related field; or associate’s degree with 2 additional years of relevant experience.
- Strong understanding of software development concepts and object-oriented programming.
- Experience in web programming, specifically with C# and .NET.
- Front-end development skills and experience in Agile software development processes.
- Experience with Java, JavaScript, and TypeScript web app development is a plus.
- Familiarity with DICOM standards preferred.
- Ability and willingness to learn additional programming languages as needed.
- Experience with large databases, MS SQL, and SQL query optimization.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of client application models, web-based application models, and web APIs.
- Experience with complex system integration including file-based and API-based integrations.
- Familiarity with agile scrum and secure coding practices.
- Knowledge of cloud app development and technologies is preferable.
