Remote Senior Staff Software Engineer - Benefits Advisory

About the Role

We are looking for a Remote Senior Staff Software Engineer to join our Benefits Advisory team at Gusto. In this role, you will lead the architectural evolution of Gusto’s benefits platform as we transition to an AI-native company. This is a full-stack architecture position where you will play a crucial role in designing and building the foundational platform that enables our customers to explore, apply for, and maintain their benefits.

What You'll Do

  • Design and implement scalable services that enhance the benefits shopping experience for our customers.
  • Transform our benefits opportunity, shopping, and renewal flows to create clear system boundaries that enable efficient reuse and increased scalability.
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, and engineering teams to ensure a seamless integration of services.
  • Develop novel AI-driven interfaces that deliver a delightful benefits shopping experience.
  • Contribute to the overall architectural strategy and vision of the Benefits Advisory team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a software engineer, with a focus on full-stack development.
  • Proficiency in modern programming languages and frameworks.
  • Experience with building scalable systems and microservices architecture.
  • Strong understanding of AI technologies and their application in enhancing user experiences.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Experience in the benefits or HR tech industry.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
