Remote Medical Doctor - Addiction Treatment Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Remote Medical Doctor specializing in addiction treatment to join our team at Cáritas Diocesana de Tenerife. This role focuses on providing specialized medical care and support to individuals struggling with addiction, particularly alcohol dependency. As a Remote Medical Doctor, you will play a crucial role in facilitating treatment and support for patients and their families.

What You'll Do

• Provide specialized medical treatment and guidance to individuals with alcohol dependency and their families.
• Conduct thorough health assessments and develop personalized biopsychosocial intervention plans.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support for patients.
• Diagnose and prescribe appropriate treatments while maintaining accurate medical records.
• Facilitate communication and coordination with health centers, mental health units, and social services.
• Engage in community awareness initiatives to promote understanding of addiction issues.
• Participate in research studies and contribute to the development of treatment methodologies.
• Support the training and guidance of volunteers involved in addiction treatment programs.

Requirements

• University degree in Medicine with specialization in addiction treatment.
• Proven experience in medical treatment for addictive behaviors.
• Advanced digital competencies and proficiency in office software.
• Strong understanding of Cáritas’ mission, vision, and values.
• Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development related to addiction and mental health.
• Experience in social volunteering or working with vulnerable populations is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Fluency in Spanish and English is preferred.
