Remote Medical Coder - Join a Leading Healthcare Provider

About the Role

We are seeking a Remote Medical Coder to join our team at Orthopaedic Associates of Wisconsin, a leading healthcare provider specializing in orthopaedic care. As a Remote Medical Coder, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of coding for physician, clinical, and surgical claims. This position offers the flexibility of remote work while contributing to the high-quality medical services we provide.

What You'll Do

• Code all physician, clinical, and surgical claims accurately using CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Act as the key point of contact for coding information and provide onsite coding and documentation education.
• Stay updated with payer regulations and documentation requirements to ensure compliance.
• Review patient medical records to ensure accuracy and completeness of coded data.
• Maintain knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and coding policies relevant to orthopaedics.
• Perform coding for in-office E&M services and surgeries.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to resolve billing issues and manage claims effectively.
• Utilize strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure high standards in coding practices.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of coding experience, preferably in orthopaedics.
• Certification from AAPC or CPC is required.
• Advanced knowledge of coding guidelines and medical terminology.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• EPIC experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to maintain professional relationships and work collaboratively.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
