Remote IT Officer - Empower Youth Employment in Uganda

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Remote IT Officer to join our team at GOAL Uganda. This role is pivotal in supporting networks, databases, and systems that empower young Ugandans, especially women, in their journey towards dignified employment. As a Remote IT Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our technology infrastructure is robust and efficient, contributing to the success of the Agrifood System Transformation for Youth Employment (ASTYE) program.

What You'll Do

• Support and maintain mobile and PC systems, acting as the primary contact for hardware and software issues.
• Coordinate with field staff to enhance mobile/PC usability, addressing features, issues, and feedback.
• Update system hardware and software to ensure optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot system errors and provide solutions to enhance data security and optimization.
• Log all tasks and repairs to maintain an organized record of issues and resolutions.

Requirements

• Proven experience in IT support, particularly in mobile and PC environments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Experience with network management and database support.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with team members and field staff.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting while managing multiple tasks.

Nice to Have

• Experience in nonprofit or social impact sectors.
• Knowledge of data security practices and optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with agrifood systems and youth employment initiatives.
