Remote GL Accountant - Impact Small Businesses

About the Role

We are looking for a Remote GL Accountant to join our team at My Financial Partner (MFP). This role offers a unique opportunity to leverage your accounting skills while making a significant impact on small businesses across the United States. As a Remote GL Accountant, you will be responsible for recording financial transactions and providing high-quality accounting support to multiple client companies.

What You'll Do

• Record financial transactions in the accounting systems for various client companies.
• Post customer payments and maintain an up-to-date accounts receivable aging report.
• Record vendor invoices, code expenses accurately, and schedule payments in the automated payable system.
• Reconcile bank records to general ledger accounts and cash accounts.
• Process online payroll and ensure accurate recording of transactions.
• Prepare and reconcile fixed assets and review capitalization adjustments.
• Conduct trial balance reviews pre-close and post-close, raising anomalies for analysis.
• Collaborate with clients and controllers to address accounting needs and provide solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of accounting and/or full charge bookkeeping experience.
• Working knowledge of accrual basis accounting and payroll requirements.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online and other cloud-based accounting tools.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Critical thinking skills for process improvements and problem-solving.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite of products.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience in a small business accounting environment.
• Familiarity with financial reporting standards.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to shifting priorities.
