About the Role

Scopely is looking for a Remote Game Designer to join our Star Trek Fleet Command team. This position allows you to work remotely from various locations including Spain, Ireland, Portugal, or the United Kingdom. As a Remote Game Designer, you will play a crucial role in inspiring play every day, whether through collaboration with talented colleagues or engaging with our vibrant player communities.

What You'll Do

  • Own the design and balance of new content and systems that drive engagement, conversion, and long-term investment from our players.
  • Build and refine novel gameplay experiences focused on resource generation, spending, time gating, and power growth.
  • Create systems that foster meaningful player agency and long-term investment.
  • Leverage the deep Star Trek IP to create unique content and experiences that tap into the rich lore and characters of each movie or TV show within the franchise.
  • Use tools such as Excel and Google Sheets to model economies and progression pacing.
  • Collaborate with experienced, driven, and passionate team members to bring innovative ideas to life.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience as a Game Designer, preferably in mobile gaming.
  • Strong understanding of game mechanics and player engagement strategies.
  • Experience with game design tools and methodologies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Passion for gaming and familiarity with the Star Trek franchise is a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in designing monetization systems.
  • Knowledge of player psychology and game analytics.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
