Product Owner - Hybrid Role at Cambridge University Press

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Product Owner to join our team at Cambridge University Press & Assessment. This Product Owner remote position will allow you to bridge the gap between business and technology, ensuring that stakeholder needs are prioritized while leading agile teams to deliver high-quality solutions. What You'll Do

• Collaborate with Business Analysts, stakeholders, and technical teams to maintain and prioritize the product backlog.
• Lead daily stand-ups, sprint planning sessions, and retrospectives to ensure effective communication and project alignment.
• Write and prioritize user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and working closely with the development team.
• Monitor progress and manage strategic risks to drive business change initiatives.
• Evaluate new requirements and validate them with customers to co-create solutions.
• Provide regular updates to stakeholders and ensure that user feedback informs continuous improvement.
• Identify risks and develop effective strategies to mitigate them, ensuring business integrity.
• Support system adoption and drive initiatives that enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Certified SCRUM Product Owner or equivalent.
• Direct experience with agile and waterfall delivery methodologies.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to document processes and functionality effectively.
• Experience in developing user stories and writing development specifications.
• Familiarity with web analytics tools such as Google Analytics.
• Proactive and adaptable to rapidly changing environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience in education, assessment, or regulated environments.
• Interest in new testing tools and techniques.
• Experience coaching or mentoring others within delivery or testing teams.
