Principal/​Senior Principal DevOps Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Principal/Senior Principal DevOps Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman. What You'll Do

• Design and develop infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
• Develop scripts, workflows, and playbooks for storage provisioning, automation, and backup integration.
• Build and maintain automated patching, compliance, and reporting frameworks.
• Administer and automate Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Windows Server environments, including OS deployment and configuration hardening.
• Manage and automate VMware vSphere based infrastructure, including ESXi hosts and virtual networking/storage objects.
• Provision, automate, and manage Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments using Omnissa Horizon.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines for seamless infrastructure deployments.
• Monitor and optimize infrastructure performance to ensure reliability and scalability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps engineering with a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years.
• Experience in developing software in Python, Bash, or C++.
• Familiarity with GitLab/Git for software configuration management.
• Understanding of software engineering best practices and the software development lifecycle.
• Experience with CI/CD processes and tools, deployment strategies, and containerization technologies.
• Ability to effectively communicate and present technical details to peers and stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II or higher (e.g., Security+ w/CE).
• Experience with relational databases and SQL.
• Active Special Access Program (SAP) access.
• Experience in a Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environment.
• Familiarity with Atlassian applications JIRA and Confluence.
