Principal Engineer Software - Virtualization (Remote)

About the Role

We are seeking a Principal Engineer Software - Virtualization to join our innovative team at Northrop Grumman. This remote position offers the opportunity to work on groundbreaking systems that impact lives globally. As a Principal Engineer, you will design and develop advanced software solutions focused on laboratory test bench virtualization.

What You'll Do

• Lead the design and implementation of virtualization builds and configurations for the virtual lab environment.
• Develop automation scripts for provisioning and lifecycle management of lab resources.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and support effective solution design.
• Ensure seamless integration of different modules and systems while meeting testing standards.
• Produce comprehensive documentation including design diagrams and user guides.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of experience, or a Master’s with 3 years, or a Ph.D. with 1 year in a Software environment.
• Active DoD Secret clearance and ability to obtain Special Access Program clearance.
• Experience using Git or similar version control systems.
• Proficiency in Windows and/or Linux environments.
• Willingness to obtain RedHat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification.

Nice to Have

• Experience with hypervisors and virtualization technologies.
• Familiarity with systemd and firewall configurations.
• Experience in hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop testing approaches.
