About the Role

We are seeking a Principal Engineer - Global Chemical Substance (GCS) remote to join our team at Raytheon Technologies. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our Avionics products comply with global chemical regulations while promoting sustainability. As a Principal Engineer, you will work closely with various teams to analyze and mitigate risks associated with chemical compliance.

What You'll Do

  • Ensure Avionics products comply with environmental requirements such as EU and UK REACH and the US Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA).
  • Analyze Collins design data relative to a variety of environmental regulations.
  • Drive product redesigns as necessary to comply with regulatory restrictions.
  • Establish design standards and integrate them into Avionics design and development processes.
  • Support program/product line and site teams in responding to customer inquiries on environmental regulations.
  • Engage stakeholders through training and communication using various forums.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Requirements

  • A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience or an Advanced Degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Familiarity with chemical composition and environmental regulations.
  • Experience with systems such as Enovia, TeamCenter, SAP, and others.
  • Strong data analytical skills and the ability to apply critical thinking.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple disciplines to solve problems.

Nice to Have

  • Understanding of Collins Aerospace Avionics design and development processes.
  • Experience identifying and eliminating materials of concern (MOC) in product designs.
  • Broad knowledge of Avionics products and their capabilities.
